• “Delish Megish”? What The Heck Does That Mean?

It doesn’t happen very often but when it does, you never forget it. It’s that feeling you get when you take a hearty bite, an excited slurp or a tentative sip. It can only be articulated by the two words that explode in your head: Delish. Megish.

It’s not often that we find foods or drinks that reach beyond tantalizing our tastebuds and touch us at our very core, that whisk us away to another place, or even evoke a childhood memory.

This site is dedicated to that exact feeling. I’ll document every memorable place I visit and every recipe that holds a special meaning to me. Every meal, every drink that makes me smile and say, “That is delish megish.”

I’ll admit, I have absolutely no professional training in cooking or baking. In fact, I haven’t even been cooking for that long. I only own one cookbook (I Like You: Hospitality Under The Influence by Amy Sedaris) which to some, may not even qualify as an actual cookbook.

Everything I know about the art of cuisine comes from being raised by a wonderful mother who made us dinner almost every night, picking the brain of my cousin who is a professional chef, spending several hours daily watching Martha Stewart and most Food Network shows (particularly Giada At Home, Chopped, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, 30 Minute Meals, Cooking For Real and What Would Brian Boitano Make?), and just loving food and everything about it.
